Welcome back to the TEFLology Podcast – A podcast all about teaching English as a foreign language and related matters.

Today we bring you the second of our three interviews conducted as part of our forum ‘Teacher Interviews: Stories of Transformation,’ at the JALT2016 conference in Nagoya.

In this episode, Rob speaks to Ryuko Kubota. Dr. Kubota works in the Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia. Her research interests include race and racism in TESOL, multilingualism, and neoliberalism in ELT. Dr. Kubota was a featured speaker to this year’s JALT conference, where she spoke about neoliberalism in language teaching and critical awareness of language myths. More information about Dr. Kubota, her publications, and her research can be found at her homepage.
