TEFL Interviews 30: Gabriele Kasper on Interaction

Welcome back to The TEFLology Podcast – a podcast all about teaching English as a foreign language and related matters.

We’re pleased to be bringing you our 30th interview episode, featuring Prof. Gabriele Kasper from the University of Hawaii.

Gabriele teaches and conducts research on multilingual speakers’ participation in social interaction from the perspective of conversation analysis and related discursive approaches. She is interested in the organization of institutional talk, the discursive production of identities, the visibly social side of cognition, affect, and learning, and the development of interactional competencies.

This interview was recorded in front of a small audience at Rikkyo University, Tokyo.
